Welcome to Scotia, New YorkJust west of Schenectady, crossing over the Mohawk River by way of the Western Gateway Bridge, is the Village of Scotia. In the 1650's, Alexander Lindsey bought this land from the Iroquois Indians. He named his estate Scotia, in memory of the Scottish hills of his native country.
GLEN SANDERS MANSION
1 Glen Ave. Scotia, NY
Course Description: Trail is rated 1A Suitable for strollers and wheelchairs with help.
Incorporated in 1904. The trail follows streets and sidewalks along the Mohawk River, through Collins Park and an 18th century farmhouse. Glen Sanders Mansion, our Starting Point, is the oldest building along the Mohawk River. George Washington was a friend of the Glen family and stayed at the Inn.
Event info: Daily, dawn to dusk. Please ask for the walk box which will be located behind the registration desk.

Directions to Glen Sanders Mansion: (click here for directions from you location).
From Schenectady: travel west on Route 5 (State St) and cross the Mohawk River into Scotia.
The Glen Sanders Mansion is located just across the bridge.
Turn left on Glen Ave, and left into the parking lot.
NYS Thruway take Exit 25, I-890 West take Exit 4C, left at the traffic light,
over the bridge, at traffic light, make left and left into our driveway.
From the West:
NYS Thruway, take Exit 26 to I-890 East, take Exit 4B, off the ramp bear to the left and follow sign to Scotia (Route 5),
left at traffic light, over the bridge, at traffic light, take left and left into our driveway.
From the North:
I-87 (Northway) take Exit 6 to Route 7 West toward Schenectady. Take I-890 West to Exit 4C,
left at the traffic light, over the bridge, at traffic light, make left and then left into our driveway.
