The following bike ride
will start and finish at Druthers Brewing Company (a
restaurant) at Mohawk Harbor in
Schenectady and consists of Options #1 and #2 below. Helmets are required - bring your own. Bike Availability: If you choose, you can check out a bike at one of the CDPHP Bike Share kiosks stations. You will need to download the app to your phone and follow the instructions at the following website: https:// cdphpcycle.com. Cost is about $5.00 per hour. There is a bike station next to Druthers and another in Riverside Park in the Stockade. The website tells you where they all are and how many bikes are there. Registration is made on the Convention website or the Hospitality Room at the Convention Site. You may conduct this ride on your own at anytime during the convention. Directions:

The bike ride will have
two distance options.This is a 25 minute ride with minimal traffic. For those of you using your GPS, the address for the Druthers Brewing Company is 221 Harborside Way, Schenectady, NY. Leave the parking lot of the Red Lion Hotel and turn right (north) on Wolf Road. Take a left onto Albany Shaker Road and go under the bridge and south onto I-87 (Northway) for 2.8 miles. Merge onto I-90 west (towards Buffalo) for 5.7 miles. Take Exit 25 onto I-890 for about 5 miles. Take Exit 4B for Erie Blvd. Continue on Erie Blvd through downtown Schenectady. At the first light after the traffic circle, turn left onto Mohawk Harbor Way and then a quick right onto Harborside Drive. Very shortly, you can turn right and pull into a parking lot behind the row of buildings. The Start Point is at Druthers Brewing Company. Option
#1: This ride will start at the Mohawk Harbor
next to Druther’s and ride along the Mohawk River around
the back of the new Casino which was built on the old American Locomotive site. Then you will venture into the Historic Stockade and Riverside Park before heading over the Western Gateway bridge into Scotia. In Scotia, you tour some of the neighborhoods, ride down beautiful tree lined Sunnyside Road and around Collins and Freedom Park. Stop at Jumpin Jacks for a “Jack Burger.” Cross the bridge and back into another street passing through the Stockade on up to Old Italy section. There is a great place to eat at More Perreca’s on Jay Street. From there you will ride around and through Union College before returning back to the Start Point. Distance: 10.9

#2: This ride is an extension of Option
#1, basically an up and down ride along the bike path
along the
Mohawk River. Shortly after leaving Jumpin Jacks and recrossing the Western Gateway Bridge, you will take a left and enter the Mohawk - Hudson Bikeway. This will take you under the bridge and off to the west (upstream along the Mohawk River). You will pass Lock 8 where you might get to see a boat go through and then further on you will ride down into the Kiwanis Park (bathroom available there) and turn around to return to the bridge where you left the Option #1 route. Once you get back to that point, you will turn left and continue with Option #1 riding through the Stockage and Union College before ending back at the Start Point. Distance
